Brilliant New Orchard Toys

This autumn we have seven new educational products from Orchard Toys - our favourite is the Little Diplodocus double sided dinosaur puzzle.

Each year Orchard widen their range by introducing new products

This year we have two new games for the under 5 year olds - Head Shoulders Knees & Toes - brilliant - “and eyes and ears and mouth and nose!” and a fun counting and colours game - Jack & Jill

We also have five new jigsaw puzzles for the under 5 year olds - in the talkabout floor puzzle range we have The Animal Game - with animals running around an athletics field - how to enthuse an Olympic 3 year old!

At Toys & Learning we stock all Schleich Dinosaurs of which there are eight in the range and all Schleich Replica Dinosaurs of which there are eleven in the range.

Everything that Schleich make has been carefully researched and thought through - the dinosaurs range are intended to be for volume sales with recommended retail prices at £3.25 and £4.25
These are great models and make a brilliant play set to stimulate children’s imagination.

My First Steiff Teddy Bear

It is only recently that Steiff have addressed the volume teddy bear market by introducing the “My First range” - the most popular is, as you would expect, the My First Steiff Teddy Bear in Beige - although the blue and pink ones are quite sought after.

Because Steiff have such a strong reputation for quality and longevity of their teddy bears - which hold their value so well - it was quite difficult for them to adjust -  as they found that the limited edition teddy bear market was no longer expanding - and in some countries contracting quite quickly.

Steiff Riding Animals

At the trade shows this year we had a chat with the Steiff people and together we decided that we, at Toys and Learning, should widen our range of their products.

We were surprised to sell a Steiff Riding Lion - called Leo within the first month.

Why were we surprised - I don’t really know - perhaps because they are expensive - But . . . . .

A couple of years ago we looked at stocking rocking horses - we checked the whole market - we could not find anything that had the right quality - that we could sell at a reasonable price - so we decided to leave well alone and stay out of that market
