Orchard’s Best Sellers

By Peter - Last updated: Wednesday, June 29, 2011

We always track our best selling Orchard Toys and compare what happens here with the best sellers list produced by Orchard themselves.

Not surprisingly I suppose our list is amazingly and consistently in line with Orchard’s list. – It does vary a little month by month but for the last three months – April May & June – Shopping List has been top of the tree – we understand it has been the top seller for years – not surprising really when you think of what the game has within it.
It is aimed at children between the ages of three and seven and is a bright, colourful fun game. It involves enabling a child to use and expand their memory skills in trying to fill their shopping trolley first – back come natural competitive attitudes – great!

Social Media Indeed!

Quite a few years back now Sue and I decided to run a pub/restaurant – I know it sounds silly but we did. At that time I did say “wonderful – now I need never use a computer again” – how wrong could I be.

Four years ago – when we first set up Toys & Learning as specialist educational toy retailers – I was able to say – with equally foolish confidence – no social media for me – not now – not ever.

So here we are today having spent a happy few hours – sort of – so to speak.

History Heroes – Monarchs – from Harry Hastings

By Peter - Last updated: Monday, February 21, 2011

When we had yet another email about a product “we just had to see!” we yawned again – we have to look at all new products because, as we become increasingly well known for quality educational toys, we receive many, many offers of “just have to see” products of which few are of any use at all.

History Heroes is different – very different – a great fun card game that you laugh and learn with.

What a brilliant name for a designer of history products – Harry Hastings – indeed Harry’s real name!

Educational Toys – Snap Card Games

By Peter - Last updated: Monday, January 31, 2011

This year we are adding card games to our educational toys line up. We started off looking at History Heroes – more later – then Mapominoes and BrainBox Games – and finally Snap Card Games.

Once we started looking properly at the snap cards from The Green Board Game Company we were quite taken aback both at the quality of the people we met as well as the product – a huge amount of care has gone into the design, production and presentation of these snap cards.

Educational Toys – Schleich Smurfs

The last thing we would have imagined as en educational toy would be one of the Schleich Smurfs – well the story goes like this.
