Train Set Specialists
We looked long and hard at the educational toy value of all types of train sets befor we made our decision to specialise in the Bigjigs range of wooden train sets.
Although all train sets seem to fascinate us the area of motorised train sets seems to be an area best left to dads adnd their boys in the model building type area.
The real advantage of tracked wooden train sets is that they produce an opportunity for parents and children to play together. It has always struck me as slightly odd that we, as adults, start from the assumption that a young child knows what a train is. The reason train sets have outlived the demise of steam is that they are push along toys first and train sets second.
The other advantage, of course, is that once a child has their initial set they can add all sorts of extras to increase the fun.
